Royal Mail Postal Strike

So the Royal Mail strike begins!

We have a great set of Posties here who are still piking up of us to get or deliveries into the system and so minimise the inevitable delays.

It’s a tricky one to really get to grips with.

On the one hand we think Royal Mail provide a fantastic service for us and all credit to the whole team behind it.

On the other hand,given the current climate,we are all looking costs,and with the number of people loosing their jobs,you can’t help but think there could be a better time to take this industrial action.

I don’t think there is any doubt that this will be very damaging to Royal Mail and will cause significant problems to the many small companies that rely on the service. It may even be enough to tip a number of the smaller operations over the edge.

I hope this all gets resolved soon,but with the announcement of more strikes next week,things don’t look great.

On a positive note for our customers (though probably not Royal Mail) we have now moved all our “Next Business Day”services to City Link,so this service should be unaffected by the strike action.
